CTP's we want to give you a quick update:
-The flash cables will start going out this week. Everyone should have their cables by 2/6.
-The software upgrade utility is sort of ready but the bad news is that its takes about 10 minutes to update a Peek. Just an FYI; the utility we use at Peek HQ takes about 1 minute to perform the update so we know something is up.
We are working with Texas Instruments to better understand our implementation of the software.
We'd be willing to release the Peek updater to some local CTP's. Anyone from the NYC/SF area want to test the Peek updater? You'd have to be patient while you run the update. We were thinking of keeping it local just in case your Peek gets bricked. We can always recover it at HQ.

Hi Gabe,
You're working late! I'm in SF. Sounds like you're somewhat confident of the results of the update.. .but it just takes 10 min out of one's life? If I understand that correctly, I'm game. I'm getting a backup Peek "just in case", so my main Peek can be out of my hands for a little bit without me having a coronary (lol). Let me know what you need from me to make this happen. And oh... does this mean you owe ME drinks when you come to the Bay Area? :)

OK, by inference that means the upgrade will likely NOT put me into a pique about my Peek. Thanks, Tom! However, I'm also noting that YOU need some time away from the office... or a spell-checker.

Gabe - For some reason, I keep thinking Peek HQ is in NY. But yet you're looking for folks in SF as well as NYC. Sooo, are we maybe implying that if my upgrade bricks my Peek for whatever reason... I can take it over to Oakland and have folks over there help me out? Just curious - I'm still very much "in".
