CTP's we want to give you a quick update:

-The flash cables will start going out this week. Everyone should have their cables by 2/6.
-The software upgrade utility is sort of ready but the bad news is that its takes about 10 minutes to update a Peek. Just an FYI; the utility we use at Peek HQ takes about 1 minute to perform the update so we know something is up.

We are working with Texas Instruments to better understand our implementation of the software.

We'd be willing to release the Peek updater to some local CTP's. Anyone from the NYC/SF area want to test the Peek updater? You'd have to be patient while you run the update. We were thinking of keeping it local just in case your Peek gets bricked. We can always recover it at HQ.

Got my cable yesterday. Flashed peek without a problem. 1.08 is so much faster than 1.04.

Yup, I have an appt with him tomorrow morning.. if Peek/Dave doesn't come through first. :)

UPDATE: Ok, so I flashed the peek without error and I received the confirmations that my contacts had been successfully downloaded but I have not received any e-mails to my device since. I've sent test e-mails to my account from a different email account. I know some other emails have been sent too but I haven't received them. Should I flash my peek again? Any other suggestions?

Try removing your battery and putting it back. Then turn your peek on. This should cure that problem Byron. Let us know. Thanks.

I removed the battery a couple times in the past few hours with no luck, but just randomly about two minutes ago all my emails to my account today started downloading to my peek. Kinda weird with a 5 hour delay between the upgrade and starting to receive my e-mails. Everything should be fine now. Thanks!

I too noticed a delay after upgrade before receiving emails. So it appears to be a normal thing after upgrading and fellow upgraders should not get alarmed.

Yep. Still waiting on mine, too. And unfortunately, I seem to be the only Peekster in Southern Ohio - at the moment, anyway. So no option but to wait some more, I guess.

Got the cable, tried to do the upgrade. Keyboard would light up, and then nothing. Couldn't even turn on or off without battery removal. When I tried again to flash, I plugged in the cable, and it would startup then shut down repeatedly. Had to get it flashed by another Peek CTP. Don't know if it was flakey, or a messed up cable. Guess I'll find out on the next upgrade. But I love 1.08.

I am having a problem getting the Peek to respond. I have reset it, powered on and off, and removed the battery. Here is the error I am getting:Could not update setting_ini

Ok starting tmsh now

Any ideas?
