I'm a technology teacher so my Peek is my always-on lifeline to student e-mail. My students love to hide behind a keyboard and would never speak with another living soul if given the chance. E-mail becomes crucial beyond the classroom for homework and other out of school issues. Tonight alone I have responded to 28 messages from seven different students in near real-time. The delay is reasonable enough that students will wait inside their e-mail account until they receive a response. Once the SMS via e-mail was added to the Peek, and the device really became a no brainer!
Staying in touch with my students after school is the number one reason why I acquired the Peek. It is the same reason why I am such an ardent supporter of Instant Messaging on the Peek as well. Technology is only as effective as the users. Instant Messaging would provide access to all of my students with one convenient device.
In addition to reaching out for homework help, my Peek has easily uncovered hours of free time every week. Suddenly I can read and respond to email during my commute (as a passenger and... embarrassingly, as the driver as well). E-mail may be read and responded when waiting in lines, contact may be made among friends while in the supermarket, and purchasing decisions may be made while you're right there in the store.
But most importantly, my Peek has become a vital tool in my marital bliss. Envy is a great tool as my wife just needed her very own. Peek has become a marital communication device. I say this as I sit in the kitchen responding to an e-mail from her in the Living Room. Peek has improved our communication. "Thank you Peek for saving my marriage!" (It's a joke, I swear!) :)
Joe is right. Envy is a wonderful tool. After having sat next to him on the commute for about a month looking at the Peek through green tinted glasses, I finally was able to break down my wife with his and his wife's help to where I was able to get mine. Now the biggest problem we have is while we're in the car together, is when the Peek rings, we look at each other and say "is that mine or yours?"
My next step to keep wearing her down about how pathetic her Nextel messaging is. Half the time she doesn't get the messages, and the rest of the time she sits there and has to actually wait for a text message to download. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
As for where do I Peek, well....Everywhere! At my desk at work, sitting on the recliner watching TV, walking through the halls of our school. I've been able to respond very quickly to technology work orders since I get notice right away. Not that they'll pick up the tab. Ha!
The time factor is huge. When I can respond to emails of my choosing whenever I have a second, as opposed to constantly running back to check the PC. I belong to a Children With Diabetes support group email list, and while there have been few occassions where I was on the receiving end of a quick response from somebody with their Blackberry or iPhone, its nice to be a part of that support mechanism that can quickly reach out to someone when they need it the most.

Most folks say I have two jobs - one of those jobs is being the development director for a nonprofit bird rescue organization. It's an all-volunteer group, and its communications lifeline is everyone's personal email addys. Some number of our group is up and emailing at ALL hours of the day and night. Probably the most unusual place at which I Peek is my bed, when I first wake up... at 3am-ish ... to see what's new in my email box and what emergency just came up at o'dark of the day (figuratively)... before I go to my paid day-job. Love the backlighting that lets me answer emails without turning on the light. Also interesting that the Peek's screen makes a half-decent flashlight...I wonder if there will be a way in the future for the user to turn it off, rather than waiting for it to turn itself off. Gotta be a little bit of an energy hog, that light.
I peek at the gym mostly.. sounds wierd I know.. but I have to send myself my weight, my measurements and all that great jazz so I can compute what my next work out has to be like... Oh yeah and I Peek at work too (Mostly to Sean and Tom though lol)...

I peek at work as well - I'm usually walking people through a specific process, and I have my Peek right there along with the other person's peek. When I'm not helping someone with their Peek, I'm peeking my co-workers(it's small, making it easy to hide from Big Brother Boss man!)
I also peek first thing in the morning - I use ask@snapask.com for weather and traffic on the morning commute - very handy!
